Gasket

Among the many key components of alkaline electrolyzers, sealing gaskets play a pivotal role. They must meet a series of stringent performance requirements, including excellent alkali corrosion resistance, long-term resistance to 27% - 32% potassium hydroxide solution, good creep resistance, and stable shape under complex working conditions; at the same time, they must have satisfactory compression resilience to compensate for the minor defects and pores that may exist on the surface of the plate and achieve excellent sealing effect.

Performance Requirements

  • Super strong alkali corrosion resistance: able to stably contact 27% - 32% potassium hydroxide solution for a long time to ensure that its own performance is not damaged.
  • Adapt to harsh working environment: high temperature and high pressure resistance, and calmly cope with complex working conditions.
  • Excellent compression and resilience: flexible compensation for plate defects and reliable elastic compensation.
  • Low creep and stress relaxation rate: excellent deformation resistance and stable load bearing of equipment operation.
  • Long-term use of non-stick plates: convenient for later maintenance and replacement, reducing operating costs.

Material Type

1. Molded silicone rubber and polymer materials with asbestos fiber, glass fiber, mineral fiber, etc., long-term high temperature hardening catalysis and other failure modes will affect the sealing effect.

2. Cloth-pad gasket.
It is to combine the traditional asbestos diaphragm cloth and gasket into one. With the ban on asbestos, this type of sealing method has also withdrawn from the market.

3. Polytetrafluoroethylene.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filled asbestos gasket, with asbestos fiber as reinforcing fiber, adding inorganic fillers such as graphite and alumina, and the finished product is made through mixing, molding, sintering, cooling and other processes.
